Easy Steps to follow when buying your Puppy online

Every day we see so many beautiful puppies online.  You have found the one of your dreams online, however it’s important to take a step back and make sure that it’s not a scam and that you are buying from a breeder with a good reputation.  Here are some tips and tricks to help out.

  1.  Look up the breeder online.  Google them.  Check them out on Facebook, Instagram, their website.  Make sure the profile wasn’t just created.  Look at their friends on. Facebook as they should have a bunch if they use it for business.  Looks at the postings to get a good feel.  Check out their reviews on google and Facebook.
  2. Look at what the pricing is of your Bulldog or Frenchie.  If the price is too good to believe, then don’t, it’s probably a scam. If in the case it was legit, you get what you pay for, most likely a sick puppy that will cost you thousands over the puppy’s lifetime.
  3. Does the breeder have a phone number and are their name listed to the website?  If not, it’s probably a scam.
  4. Ask to come and visit the puppy or an on-site visit.  Most won’t let you come to their homes, but FaceTime is an appropriate alternative.  Breeders need to be cautious of diseases from the outside to protect their dogs.  Also, if the dogs have not had their first round of shots, this is very dangerous to the puppy.
  5. Make sure there is a contract in place.  Good breeders will put everything in writing.
  6. Don’t send a wire or money order that is untraceable.
  7. Always trust your instincts.  If you don’t feel comfortable with your transaction, don’t do it.  Trust yourself.
